How do I get started with WriteIn French?
Just visit writeinfrench.com and sign in with the email address and password you used when creating your account. There's nothing to install — everything runs in your browser.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
On the sign-in screen at writeinfrench.com, click the Forgot password link and follow the instructions sent to your email. If you don't receive the reset email within a few minutes, check your spam folder or contact us at support@writeinlabs.com.
What can the web app do?
WriteIn French helps language learners write better French with AI-powered grammar checking, style improvements, vocabulary suggestions, expression lookups and verb conjugation. Sign in at writeinfrench.com to start writing.
Is WriteIn French free?
Yes — there's a free tier with limited daily usage. For unlimited grammar checks, expression suggestions and writing improvements across the web app and our add-ins, you can upgrade on our pricing page.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Sign in at writeinfrench.com/manage-plan.php to view, update or cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.
Google Docs add-on
How do I install the WriteIn French Google Docs add-on?
Open a Google Doc, go to Extensions → Add-ons → Get add-ons, then search for "WriteIn French" in the Google Workspace Marketplace and click Install. Once installed, you can launch it from the Extensions menu in any document.
The add-on isn't appearing in my Extensions menu. What should I do?
Try refreshing the document, then check Extensions → Add-ons → Manage add-ons to confirm it's installed and enabled. If it's still missing, sign out and back into your Google account, or reinstall from the Marketplace. If the issue persists, email us at support@writeinlabs.com.
What permissions does the add-on require, and why?
The add-on requests permission to read and modify the document you have open so it can analyse your French text and apply grammar corrections. It does not access your other Drive files. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Microsoft Word add-in
How do I install the WriteIn French add-in for Microsoft Word?
In Word, go to Insert → Get Add-ins (or Home → Add-ins on newer versions), search the Office Add-ins store for "WriteIn French" and click Add. Once installed, you can open it from the Home tab in Word for Windows, Mac, and Word on the web.
Which versions of Word does the add-in support?
The add-in works with Microsoft 365 (Word for Windows, Mac, and Word on the web) and recent perpetual versions of Word that support Office Add-ins. If you run into compatibility issues, please email support@writeinlabs.com with your Word version and we'll help you troubleshoot.
The Word add-in won't load or shows a blank pane.
Close and reopen the task pane, then restart Word. If the issue persists, clear the Office cache (instructions vary by platform — we're happy to walk you through it; just email us). Make sure you're connected to the internet, since the add-in communicates with our servers to process text.
